Champs de Morjot is a new addition to the lineup, in lieu of former Les Chênes. It is situated in Chassagne-Montrachet, just below the premier cru vineyard of Morgeot —mind the tricky spelling! A couple of parcels are utilized for this wine, with vines being 45 years of age. Soil is mostly clay.
Tasting Notes:
Attractive nose with brambly red fruit, undergrowth, damp moss and light tobacco scents. The palate is full-bodied with sappy red fruit and fine acidity; the wine is quite structured with a very peppery finish. To be served at 14-16°C (57-61°F). Ageing potential: 5-7 years.
