« La Maltroie » is a quite unique appellation, as it encompasses all vineyard plantings within the limits of the town center of Chassagne-Montrachet. The rich clay-based calcareous soils translate into very structured wines. The average age of the vines is approximately 35 years.
Tasting notes:
This wine displays a classic Chassagne-Montrachet profile. Citrus and minerals on the nose, a great intensity and a full body deriving from the clay-based soils. It can benefit from decanting, enabling the concentrated flavours to develop. Candied apricot, tangerine and ripe fruit flavours converge with a pleasant minerality on the structured palate.
To be served at 10-12°C.
Ageing potential: 5 years.
